Buring Magazine by Shiori Ota

Burning Magazine is a zine project created by Shiori Ota in 2020, with each issue limited to 50 self-published copies. The zines, sold at small events and art book fairs, focus on themes surrounding feminism, society, the body, and the female gaze. The first issue, "Re-defining Beauty" (2020), co-organized with Sora Takahashi, and the second, "Gaze ~ Female Gaze? ~" (2022), are both sold out. The content includes photography, fashion portraits, art, and writing, aiming to provoke discussions on these important topics. A website will launch in March 2024, offering frequent updates and new content. The project is also seeking organizations providing support and individuals—particularly women and queer voices—interested in contributing their thoughts through writing.
